Privacy notice

Who we are
This website is run by Citations LLC. For the personal data you share with us here, Citations LLC is the controller: we decide why and how it is used.
For any question about this notice or your data, write to [email protected].
What we collect on this site
- When you ask to hear about the announcement: your email address and the role you choose (or what you type, if you choose Other).
- If a link brought you here, its campaign parameters (utm_ and ref, for example utm_source=newsletter), kept with your signup so we know which link worked.
- Your IP address, used only to limit how often the form can be sent and keep out abuse; it is not stored with your signup.
- The form uses Google reCAPTCHA v3, which looks at how the page is used to tell people from automated traffic. Google's own privacy policy applies to what it collects.
- A privacy-friendly analytics cookie (Google Analytics). In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland it is set only if you accept it in the cookie banner; elsewhere it is set unless you decline it there. It is never used for advertising.
Why, and on what basis
- To write to you once when we announce, as you asked. This relies on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by writing to us.
- To prevent abuse of the form (rate limits and reCAPTCHA). This is our legitimate interest in keeping the site usable and safe.
- To understand how the site is used (analytics). This relies on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
How long we keep it
- Announcement signups are kept for up to 24 months after they were last updated, then deleted automatically. Ask us and we delete them sooner.
- Records used for abuse limits are kept for a few hours.
Who processes it for us
We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf and under our instructions:
- our cloud hosting provider, which runs this website and stores the signups;
- our email provider, which delivers the announcement email;
- Google, for reCAPTCHA on the form and for analytics.
Some of these providers may process data outside your country. Where they do, we use the safeguards the law requires for such transfers.
Your rights
You can ask us for access to your data, to correct it, to delete it, or object to how we use it. You can also complain to your supervisory authority. To use any of these rights, write to [email protected].
